Future Projects

  • Freedomware

This will be a cloudbased software/network program that will allow individuals to work on tablets to take classes virtually for GED, Parole required classes, and other classes while still incarcerated. They will also be allowed to use the program to contact staff, make appoinments, read books, and find out parole and release information. This is an amazing program, but we need your help. Governor Nathan Deal has made reentry a priority and it is the intent of SIT, Inc. to work in alignment with the Governor's office in an effort to reinforce and support this initiative.

  • Seminars for Transition Center Residents

These seminars will showcase the essential information concerning service provider organizations in the community as well as their requirements and application process.

  • Employer Seminars

The ability to secure employment is essential to the successful reentry of an ex-offender. Once gainfully employed the returning citizen becomes a tax payer rather than liability. Employers who hire ex-felons are entitled to benefits such as tax incentives and bonding programs. Please see our projects page for more details on the benefits to employers.

  • Virtual School

The virtual school will offer reentry related classes. Some classes will be fee based and others will be offered at no cost. Be looking for this school to debut in December 2015!

  • Reentry Center

A business plan is in process for a brick and mortar reentry center, an actual location where people seeking assistance will be partnered with the resources to help them. Assessment and accountability will play a role in preparing and securing services as we come alongside, invest, and equip these citizens for successful reentry. The Georgia Reentry Center will serve both returning citizens and service providers. More information to come later in 2015.
